Outside the basics of painting on a canvas with acrylic paint, I find it a bit hard to explain my process; as part of me feels like I leave myself when I paint. Honestly, I imagine most artists feel exactly as I do.  Everyone knows what “Flow” is, right?

Ive always felt that when I paint, part of me leaves myself and my hand is moved my some magical force (maybe a muse?) taking its place. In this practice I feel very much at peace. And finding peace is what we all seek. This is how I find mine for myself

When people ask me why I paint I’ve had immense difficulty not giving a half assed answer. But, as time has gone on and I’ve exhausted all half-hearted answers, I’ve come to a time where I realize what my reason for it is… for me, painting is all there is.

 

I love it. I am meant for it. And now I am giving myself to it.
